Ali Enterprises

Our place is at Plot 492 in the Kumaran Khandwala area. We are pretty close to Rana Kothi, which is a good landmark if you're trying to find our shop for the first time. It’s just a regular enterprise where we handle various hardware and supplies for the community. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. The floor is just plain concrete and there are stacks of inventory against the walls, sometimes reaching the ceiling. We started Ali Enterprises to supply the local area with what they need without them having to travel across the city. It's mostly just us and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. The day usually starts early with unloading a truck or checking the new stock. We aren't into the corporate style of doing things. If a customer comes in, we just talk to them like a neighbor and try to find a solution. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when things get a little quiet in the afternoon. We've seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We keep the books by hand for the most part. It’s a simple way of living and working. We deal with a lot of different items, so it's always interesting to see what people are looking for. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and we just have to wait it out. That's just life in a small business.
