Yas Windings

Yas Windings is located in the Soorya Complex over in Velloorkunnam. If you are around Muvattupuzha, you probably know the spot. We spend most of our time sitting at the bench with copper wire and various motor parts scattered around. It’s a small shop, and it can get pretty warm in here when the sun hits the front. We do a lot of winding for different kinds of motors that people bring in. Usually, the floor has some scraps of insulation and wire clippings by the end of the afternoon. We have been in this complex for a while now. Most days it is just the sound of the tools and the traffic passing by outside. It isn’t a very quiet job, but you get used to it. The neighbors in the other shops stop by to chat sometimes. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. People just walk in, show us what’s broken, and we see what we can do. It is a lot of manual work, using our hands to get the coils just right. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought it would. That is just the way it goes with old motors. We keep the registers in a small desk in the corner. It’s a simple life here in Muvattupuzha, just working through the pile of jobs we have for the week and closing up when it gets dark.
