Cosmotone Conductors is based out in Mekkadampu. It’s a bit of a different setting compared to the big city industrial estates. Being near the post office means everyone in the village knows where we are. It’s a quieter place to work, though we still keep quite busy with our conductor production. The building isn’t anything special to look at, just a sturdy place where we can house our machinery and materials. We have a small group of workers from the local area who have been with us for years. They know the machines inside out. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a human resources department. If there’s a problem, we just talk it over and fix it. The pace of life here is a little slower than Mumbai, but the work still has to get done. We spend a lot of our day checking the wire quality and making sure the spools are winding correctly. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of life here. We don’t have a website with a lot of big claims. We just make the conductors and send them out to whoever needs them. It’s a simple life and a simple business, and we prefer it that way. We just keep things moving and try to do a decent job every day. The morning air is usually nice before the heat kicks in, which makes the early start worth it for all of us here.
