Our office is tucked away at 105 Rajpur Road in Dehradun, right near the RTO office. If you’ve ever been to this part of Jakhan, you know how busy the street can get with cars and bikes constantly buzzing by. At Rattan Legal Associates, the atmosphere inside is quite a bit different from the noise outside. It’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and the occasional rustle of legal folders being moved from one desk to another. We have stacks of papers that seem to grow every week, but we manage to keep track of it all in our own way. The windows look out toward the road, and sometimes you can see the mountains if the weather is clear enough, which is one of the perks of being in Uttarakhand. We aren't one of those big, shiny law firms you see in the movies. Our chairs are a bit worn, and the tea we make in the back is probably too strong, but it keeps us going through the afternoon filings. We spend a lot of time reading through documents and making sure everything is in order for the people who walk through our door. It’s steady, quiet work for the most part, unless we have a deadline looming. We just try to keep things honest and handle the paperwork as it comes, making sure the local folks who need help feel heard.
