Down in Nago Thane, in the Roha district, you can find us at Aarya Soda. It’s a small operation, really, and we like it that way. We’ve been at this same spot for a bit, just focusing on making soda for the people around this part of the district. It isn't a big factory or anything like you see in the city movies. We have our few machines set up in the back and we spend most of our time making sure the gas is right and the caps are on tight so they don't leak. Some days are slower than others, but when it gets really hot outside, everyone in the village starts coming by. We don't spend any money on ads or fancy signs. Most people just know we are here because they see the crates stacked up outside the door or they hear the bottles clinking. My brother and a couple of local guys help me out with the heavy lifting and loading. We usually start very early before the sun gets too high because the work is physical and the room gets warm. It’s a lot of cleaning old bottles and checking the water levels. Sometimes the delivery van acts up, which is a real headache, but we manage to get it fixed eventually. Living and working in Roha is quiet, which suits us. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business going. The floor is always a bit wet from the washing and bottling work we do.
