Our place, Gopal Nimodiya & Company, is located in the old city part of Murtizapur. We are right at Singhi Chowk, which is a very familiar landmark for anyone who has lived here for a while. The HDFC bank branch is just around the corner, so that makes it easier for people to explain where we are to those who aren't from around here. Being in the old city means the streets are a bit narrower and the buildings are closer together. It feels very traditional and grounded. Our office has that old-school vibe with thick wooden desks and lots of registers stacked up. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the building has seen many seasons. In the afternoons, you can hear the sounds of the local market and the traffic from the main road. It gets a bit warm during the summer months, but the high ceilings help keep it somewhat cool. We aren't into anything modern or flashy. The work we do involves a lot of numbers and talking to people who walk in with their documents. Most of the people who visit us are locals or farmers from the Taluka area. We sit here and handle the paperwork as it comes. It's a steady pace of life in Murtizapur. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers around Singhi Chowk quite well. It’s just how things are done in this part of town.
