About Tamim Ikbal Mudi Store – Food & Beverages in Murshidabad
My store is situated right at the Chuapukur More in the Rajarampur area, which falls under the Lalgola police station jurisdiction. Most people who live around here just call it the Mudi store. It is a very typical village shop where we sell things like rice, pulses, mustard oil, and those small individual packets of shampoo or soap. I have been sitting behind this wooden counter for many years now. The shop itself is quite small and built of solid brick, located exactly where the main roads meet at the "More." It gets especially busy during the weekly market days when everyone comes out to trade. I usually keep a few open sacks of rice sitting near the entrance so that people can see the quality for themselves before they buy. Sometimes the monkeys from the trees nearby try to sneak in to steal snacks, so I have to keep a wooden stick handy just to scare them away. My English is not very perfect, but I understand exactly what the local people need for their homes. We do not have a computer in the shop; I do all the math on a small scrap of paper or just in my head if it is a simple order. The electricity goes out quite often here in Lalgola, so we make sure to keep plenty of candles and matches in stock for the neighbors. It is a very simple business and I know all the kids who visit.
