Sovashomaho Foundation

You can find us in Singhpara, which is part of the Sagarpara area in Murshidabad. We are based at Adyanath Singh’s place. Sovashomaho Foundation is just a small group of us from the village. There is not much out here in terms of big charities, so we decided to do something ourselves. We do not have a fancy building or computers for everyone. Mostly, we just sit on the porch or in the main room and talk about what needs to be fixed in the village. Maybe a well needs repairing or someone’s roof is leaking. We try to pool our resources and help out. It is very informal. We do not have a set schedule; people just drop by when they see us home. The air is quiet here, and everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We are not doing this for fame. We just live here and want things to be a bit easier for the families in Singhpara. Sometimes it is hard to get supplies all the way out here, but we manage. We are not experts in running a foundation, but we learn as we go. It is just us trying to make a difference in our own small way without any fuss or big speeches. If you are looking for us, just ask anyone in Sagarpara for the Singh house.
