Sotota India Nidhi Limited works out of Uttar Mohammadpur. If you know the Loharpur post office, we are quite close to that area in Samserganj. Umar Ali’s place is where we have the setup. It isn’t some high-rise building with a security guard at the front. We are just local people working in our own neighborhood. We deal with the usual money things like savings and small credit for people who live nearby. It gets busy on market days when everyone is out and about. We started this because finding a bank that listens to small problems is hard. Here, you can just come in and ask a question. We don't have those complicated forms that take hours to fill out. Sometimes we sit and have tea with people while they figure out how much they want to save every month. It’s a simple way of doing things. The walls are plain and the furniture is basic, but the work gets done. Most of our members are our neighbors or people we see at the market every week. We know who is who. It helps to have a place where the staff speaks the same way you do. We just keep our heads down and keep the accounts in order.
