Safalya Welfare Foundation is out in Murshidabad. We are located at Brajagopal Haldar’s place in Chhatai. It is a very local spot, right near the Chhatai Primary School. The post office is also called Chhatai, and our pin code is 742302. This part of West Bengal is very different from the big cities. It is more about the fields and the small village clusters. Our office is a simple room in the village where we handle all the foundation business. Being near the school means we hear the kids playing and the bell ringing throughout the day. Brajagopal Haldar is a name many people around here recognize, which makes it easier for visitors to find us. We don't have a corporate lobby or anything like that. It is just a desk, some chairs, and our documents. Life moves at a slower pace here in Chhatai, but we stay busy with our tasks. We walk to most places or take a cycle if it is further away. The air is cleaner out here than in Kolkata, that’s for sure. We have become a fixture in the Chhatai community over the years. If you are coming from the main road, just head toward the primary school and ask for Brajagopal's house. Most people will point you in the right direction. It is a humble place, but it is where we work and stay connected to the land.
