S. K. Dal Mill

We’re located in Shamganj, right near the Allahabad Bank. It’s easy to find us if you’re looking for the bank. S. K. Dal Mill is just a local spot where we deal with different kinds of pulses. The area is usually quite congested with traffic, especially in the afternoons. We have been working here for years. It’s a small operation. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. We just focus on the milling process. The machines are loud and they take a lot of maintenance to keep them running smooth. Usually, we are covered in a bit of grain dust by the time we go home. We don’t really have a big philosophy or anything. We just get up, come to Shamganj, and start the day. The tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks. It’s a regular life. Sometimes the supply of grain is steady, other times we are waiting around for the trucks to arrive. We’ve known the bank staff for a long time too, since they are right there. Our space is filled with sacks of dal stacked up to the ceiling. We try to keep things organized, but it gets messy when we are busy. It’s just how it goes in this trade. We’re glad to be part of the neighborhood here. We don't plan on moving or changing things because this works for us.
