Down on Amarchakrobortyroad, you’ll find our little office for Rajpath Contractors & Engg. Ltd. We are based in Khagra, which is part of the Murshidabad district. It’s a relatively quiet place most days, though the road can get a bit noisy with the local rickshaws and people going to market. We’ve been working out of this same spot for quite a while now. Engineering and contracting isn't quite as glamorous as people might think. It involves a whole lot of paperwork and dealing with local suppliers who have their own way of doing things. We spend a lot of our time just making sure the materials delivered are actually what we ordered. The pin code is 742103 if you’re ever sending us a letter, but most local people just walk through the front door. We don't have a fancy website or any spokesperson to talk for us. It’s just us, a few wooden chairs, and a lot of maps of the area pinned to the walls. We do what we can for the local community here in West Bengal. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours and we just sit outside and talk until the lights come back on. That’s just how life goes here. We don’t make big, empty promises that we can't keep later. We just look at the job, give a fair price, and get started on the work. It’s honest labor and it keeps us busy.
