Our company name is Melcon Engineers, Bangalore, which I know sounds like we should be in a big tech park in Karnataka. But we are actually located in Babur Gram, which is a village in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Our address is near Ramna Sk Dighi, and the pin code is 742227. It’s quite a different world out here compared to Bangalore. We are surrounded by more greenery and open space, which is a nice change of pace. We handle engineering work, so we have a lot of tools and technical drawings lying around the office. The building is simple and fits right in with the rest of the village. It’s not always easy being an engineering firm in a rural area, as the logistics can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we make it work. We have a small group of people who are good at what they do. We don’t have any of that corporate fluff or big missions. We just fix things and build things as they are needed. The locals know us well and we often help out with bits and pieces around the area. It’s a practical way of living and working. We show up, see what needs to be engineered or repaired, and we get to it. It’s a quiet life in Murshidabad, and we are happy to be doing our part from our little corner of West Bengol.
