Kidzee

Our place is over in Gorabazar in Murshidabad and it is usually quite loud because of all the kids running around. Being in a village area means everyone knows where the school is and we see the same faces every morning when parents come by. Kidzee has been part of this community for a while now and the building we use stays pretty cool even when it gets hot outside. We have different rooms for the different age groups and there is always some kind of drawing or craft project drying on the windowsills. The staff here are mostly local people so we talk to the neighbors a lot while we are setting up in the morning. Sometimes the rains make the roads a bit muddy around Gorabazar but the kids don't seem to mind it much when they arrive. We spend a lot of time just organizing toys and making sure the classrooms are ready for the next day. It is not a very formal place and we like it that way because it feels more like a big home for the little ones. You can hear the rhymes being sung from the street if you walk past at the right time. We just keep things simple and focus on the daily routine of looking after the children and making sure they have something to do until their parents come back in the afternoon.
