Drongo Foundation

Drongo Foundation is based out of Krishnapur village. We work from Anindita’s place, which is right in the heart of the village. It’s a quiet area for the most part, except for when the local markets are in full swing and the streets get packed. We like it here because it keeps us close to the people we are actually trying to reach. There’s no disconnect when you live and work in the same village. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a dedicated social media manager. We just have our small office and the work we do. Most of our day is spent visiting neighbors or sitting around the table planning what to do next. It’s a very hands-on way of running a foundation. Sometimes the roads aren't the best, especially after a heavy rain, but we make it work anyway. We started this because we saw things that needed fixing in our own community. It wasn’t about being famous or making a big name for ourselves. We just wanted to be useful and help out where we could. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We know everyone’s name and they know ours. It feels like a family project more than a formal business. That’s just the way things are in Krishnapur. We aren't trying to change the world, just our little corner of it. It takes time but we don't mind.
