Dadpur Export & Import is based out in Murshidabad, in a place called Beldanga. If you are looking for us, we are at Hoque Mohammad Mollick’s place in Maradighi. It is a lot quieter here than in the big city, which is nice in some ways but makes the logistics a bit more interesting. We deal with moving things in and out, often working with local goods that come from this part of West Bengal. The roads around Beldanga aren't always the best, especially when the monsoon rains hit and everything turns to mud, but we manage to keep things moving. We aren't some big corporation with hundreds of employees. It is more of a local operation where everyone knows each other. We spend our days checking on the stocks and talking to the local transporters who know the backroads. There is a lot of paperwork involved in import and export, even in a small town like this. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy, so we do things the old-fashioned way with phone calls and ledger books. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the trade goes through and the people we work with are satisfied. It is honest work, and it keeps the local economy going in our little corner of the world. Every day is different, depending on what the farmers or the suppliers have ready for us.
