Neha Handicrafts

Our shop is tucked away in Kali Gali, right off Kasba Road in the Main Bazar. If you have ever walked through the bazar, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the afternoons. Neha Handicrafts has been in this narrow lane for a while. We have all kinds of things piled up on the shelves. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. Most of our day is spent unpacking crates or showing pieces to people who wander in from the street. The light in the alley isn't great, so we usually keep the front lights on all day long. We get a lot of dust from the main road, so we are constantly wiping things down with old rags. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is hidden. Sometimes we sit outside on small stools when the shop is quiet. The neighbors are mostly other shopkeepers we have known for years. We share tea and complain about the heat or the rain when the roof leaks a little. It is just a small place in a busy market. We do our work, talk to the customers, and try to make sure everything is packed properly before it leaves the door. It is simple enough and it keeps us going in this part of the city.
