Kerala Travel In

Down here at Chirapurath Buildings, we spend our days at Kerala Travel In trying to get people’s trips and schedules sorted out. It’s a lot of looking at train times and making phone calls to see what is actually available. Travel can be a bit of a headache with all the sudden changes and cancellations, so we spend a lot of time on the computer trying to fix things for people. It’s not a big flashy travel agency with posters and models everywhere. We have a few old desks and some plastic chairs for people to sit while we talk through their travel plans. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is on the phone at the same time. We know the local routes pretty well and we try to give honest advice about how long it actually takes to get from one place to another. It’s not always as fast as the map or the internet says it is. We’ve had people coming to us for years because we’re just right here in the neighborhood and they know our faces. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything fancy. We just rely on people telling their friends that we helped them out. Most days are just us drinking tea and working through the list of bookings we have. It’s a decent way to spend the day, just helping folks get where they need to go.
