S M Academy

If you walk past the New Bihula Sthan in Asarganj, you’ll find us right there. We are a small academy in Munger, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good while. The building isn't anything you’d see in a magazine. It’s just a practical space with sturdy walls and big windows to let the air in. In the mornings, the street outside gets a bit crowded with people going to the temple and kids coming to class. We spend a lot of time just organizing things. There’s always a desk that needs fixing or a stack of papers that needs sorting. The teachers here are local people who know the families in the area. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the kids to sit down, open their books, and learn something. When it rains, the sound on the roof is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard. It’s not perfect, but it’s our daily life. We have a small yard where the kids stand for the morning assembly. You can hear them reciting things from the street. By the time the afternoon heat hits, everyone is ready to head home. We lock up the gate, walk home ourselves, and do it all again the next day.
