Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.

We are based out of P.O. Narmadanagar in the district. It’s a large area, and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. takes up a good amount of space here. It’s not like a regular shop on a street corner. There are big buildings and pipes everywhere. We have a lot of people working here in different sections. My office is just one small part of the whole place. We even have a post office right here in Narmadanagar because the site is so big. Most of the day is spent walking between different buildings or sitting in meetings. It’s an industrial environment, so there’s always the sound of machinery in the distance. We wear our boots and gear most of the day. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We deal with a lot of different things, from chemicals to basic supplies. The canteen is where everyone meets up for lunch. It’s a busy place with a lot of history in this district. People move here specifically to work at the plant. It feels like its own little town sometimes. We have our own rhythm here. We start shifts early and the lights stay on late. It’s a lot of responsibility keeping everything running, but we just take it one day at a time. It’s a massive operation, but we just focus on our own tasks and getting things finished before the shift ends.
