Zeya Stores

Zeya Stores is on the ground floor of the Noorani Building, which is shop number 38. We are right across the road from Billa Bong School. Because of the school, our mornings and afternoons are usually very loud with parents dropping off kids and buses pulling up. It’s a good spot to be in because there is always something happening. The shop itself is tucked into building 93/95 and it’s not very large, but we pack it full of whatever we are selling. We spend a lot of time just rearranging things on the shelves to make more room. Sometimes it feels like we are playing a game of Tetris with the boxes. When the school bell rings, the street gets really hectic for about half an hour. We usually just watch the chaos from the doorway while we wait for the next person to come in. The Noorani Building is an older structure, so it has its own quirks like leaky pipes or flickering lights sometimes. We just deal with those things as they come up. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of store. We don’t have a mission statement or any big goals other than keeping the shop running and making sure the shelves aren't empty. It is a simple life here in the ground floor shop. We just open up and wait for the school crowd to pass by.
