We are located in the Mittal Industrial Estate over in Marol, Andheri East. Specifically, you can find us in the B-Wing of Sanjay Building Number 5, units 160 and 161. The estate is always buzzing with trucks loading and unloading stuff. It’s a bit of a hike to get up to the units, but once you are inside, it’s all about the fabric. We have rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls, almost reaching the ceiling in some spots. The machines have a constant rhythm that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours. It’s a bit warm in the afternoons, especially during the summer, so we keep the big fans going. Our desks are usually covered in fabric swatches and little scraps of thread. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the B-Wing because the signs in the estate are a bit faded. We’ve been here for years, so we know the shortcuts through the corridors. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the material and making sure everything is packed right. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see someone busy at a cutting table or checking a ledger. It’s a real working space, messy at times but functional. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s when everyone takes a five-minute break to chat.
