We’re out in Bhandup West, inside the Pooja Industrial Estate on Tulsipada lake road. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if the traffic on LBS Marg is bad, which it usually is. Our unit is A-17. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery and welding going on nearby. We have a small shop floor and a tiny office partitioned off with some plywood. It’s dusty work, and we’re usually covered in a bit of grime by the time we head home. We deal with various industrial supplies and small manufacturing jobs. The road outside gets really muddy when it rains, so we have to keep a bunch of old rags by the door for people to wipe their feet. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time. The landlord is okay, though he takes a while to fix anything that breaks. We have a small ritual of feeding the stray dogs that hang around the estate entrance every morning. It’s not a fancy business; we just take the orders as they come and try to get them finished on time. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due, sitting under the flickering tube lights. It’s just us doing our bit in the middle of all the other factories. We don't have a big sign, just the number painted on the door. It is a bit loud but we are used to it.
