Yash Heights. Mumbai

Getting to our office at Fatima Bldg can be a bit of a hike if you are coming from the station during rush hour. We are on the first floor at Dockyard Road, right in the heart of Mazagaon. Mumbai is always noisy, and this area is no different with all the activity near the docks. Yash Heights. Mumbai has been operating out of 57/29 for some time. The building is old, you can see it in the walls and the way the stairs creak when you walk up. We have a small team here. Most of our day is spent dealing with people coming in and out, asking questions about projects or just dropping off mail. The humidity in this part of the city is something else, so the fan is always on high. It gets dusty because of the construction and the traffic outside, so we are always wiping down the desks. It isn't a corporate setup with a receptionist or a coffee machine that makes fancy lattes. We just have an old kettle and some tea bags in the corner. We focus on the work at hand and try to get through the pile of folders on our desks. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy that the water starts leaking through the window frames, and we have to move the chairs. It is just a normal Mumbai office life. We know the neighbors and the guy who sells snacks downstairs. We just work here.
