Y. S. Traders is tucked away at 242 Dharavi Main Road, inside the Cst Compound. If you’ve ever been to Dharavi, you know how packed and lively it is. Our spot is right in the thick of it. We have been working out of this compound for quite some time now. It’s not a shiny office building; it’s a functional space where we store our goods and manage our trading business. The main road outside is always crowded with traffic and people, which can make getting deliveries in and out a bit of a challenge sometimes, but we’ve learned how to time things right. Inside, we have our desks and piles of inventory. We don't really have a set way of doing things other than making sure we get the orders right and out the door on time. The guys here work hard and we usually have tea together in the afternoon while we go over the day's numbers. It’s a very down-to-earth environment. We don't use fancy software or have a marketing team; it’s just us and our ledgers. The Cst Compound has many other small businesses like ours, so there is a sense of community among the neighbors. We help each other out with unloading or moving stuff when needed. It’s just how things work here on Dharavi Main Road. It is a busy life, but it’s a good one for a small trading house like ours.
