Wizard Biotech is located at 112 in the Blue Roase Industrial Estate. We’re right across from the Magathane Depot, just off the Western Express Highway in Borivali East. It’s a very busy area, especially with the highway traffic and the buses constantly coming and going. The industrial estate is a mix of all sorts of small companies. We work on biotechnology stuff, mostly focusing on lab work and testing. The unit we have is functional. It’s got our equipment, some storage, and a small area for the desk work. It’s not the quietest place because of the highway, but you get used to the hum of the traffic after a while. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just our name on the directory. Most of the people working here have a science background, so we spend a lot of time looking at slides or checking cultures. We don't use marketing talk because our work is mostly technical. If a test takes three days, it takes three days. We don't try to rush the science. The estate can get a bit messy during the rains, with puddles everywhere, but we just wear our boots and get to it. We’ve been here for a good few years and know the other business owners in the block. It’s a practical place for a practical business. We usually have lunch together and talk about whatever is on the news. There aren't many frills here at Wizard Biotech. We just focus on the experiments and the data. Sometimes the lab equipment needs a bit of tinkering to keep it running right, but we handle it ourselves. It’s just how we operate day to day. We don't have time for corporate slogans when there are samples to process.
