Our little office is in Laxmi Apartment, Flat 104, over in Mahadnaka. Khed is a quiet enough place compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We spend our days here in Ratnagiri looking over plans and talking to folks who want to build something. The room isn't very big, so things tend to pile up on the desks. We have a lot of folders with names of different projects written on them in marker. Sometimes the breeze comes in through the window and blows the papers around, so we use heavy stones as paperweights. It’s a very local operation. We know most of the people who walk through the door. We don't have a website that does much, so we rely on people just coming by for a chat. The chairs are old and creak a bit, but they work. We handle the paperwork for the developments around here, making sure the permissions are sorted and the builders know what they are doing. It's practical work. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a map of the taluka. We start early and usually finish when the sun goes down. It's just a regular life for us here, helping get things built in our part of the world. There’s always coffee if you come at the right time, though the pot is usually empty by noon.
