Vora Screws

At No. 93 Narayan Dhuru Street, you will find the front door of Vora Screws. If you know this street, you know it is famous for hardware and tools, and we are right in the thick of it. Our shop is filled with all kinds of fasteners and small parts. It is the kind of place where you might get a bit of grease on your hands if you lean on the wrong counter, but that is part of the charm. We spend most of our time counting out items or looking through catalogs to find exactly what a person needs. The street outside is always loud with trucks unloading and people shouting to be heard over the traffic. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. Inside, the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, and we have ladders to reach the top bins. It’s not a big showroom with bright lights; it’s a working hardware shop. We keep our records mostly by hand or on a simple computer because we don't need anything more complicated than that. The people who work here have been doing this for years, so they know where every single nut and bolt is kept. It is a bit crowded, especially when three or four people come in at once, but we always manage to sort them out. We usually have a bit of music playing on a small radio to keep us company while we sort the stock. That is how we spend our days on Narayan Dhuru Street.
