Our shop is Unit Number 6 in the Siddhpura Industrial Estate, over in Kurla West on Masrani Lane. Being in an industrial estate means it’s always a bit noisy with trucks and other businesses working nearby. We’ve been here quite a while. Inside, it’s mostly printers and computers. The smell of ink is pretty strong most days, but you get used to it after the first few minutes. It’s not a place where you’d find fancy decorations on the walls. Most of the wall space is covered in test prints or notes about current jobs. We spend our time checking colors and making sure the machines are running smooth. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things. It’s just the reality of running a small print shop. We don’t have a dedicated sales team. When the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. We take our work seriously but we don’t act like we’re some big agency. Masrani Lane gets pretty crowded with delivery bikes in the afternoon. We have to be careful when we’re loading up the finished prints so we don’t get in anyone’s way. Kurla West is a busy hub, and being in Unit 6 gives us just enough space to breathe. We’ve got an old desk where we do all the paperwork, but it’s usually buried under samples. We don’t mind the clutter as long as we know where everything is.
