You’ll find Vinayak Auto Parts over at Number 5, Lakshman Rao Road in Mulund West. It’s a busy street with lots of mechanics and other shops nearby. Our place is filled from floor to ceiling with boxes of parts—brakes, lights, filters, you name it. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we know exactly where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific bolt for an old model, we can usually dig it out from the back. The shop has been here for a long time and the shelves are starting to sag a bit under the weight of all the metal. We spend most of the day with grease on our hands, checking orders or helping a customer figure out what’s wrong with their vehicle. It’s not the cleanest job, but we like working with our hands and seeing how things fit together. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know our way around an engine. We don't bother with fancy displays; the parts speak for themselves. The tea stall across the road keeps us going through the long afternoons. It’s a lot of manual work and paperwork, but it’s a living. We’re just a local shop serving the people around Mulund who need to keep their cars running. We aren't experts in everything, but we know our parts well enough to get by.
