Vijay Auto Parts

You can find us over at Grant Road 314/316-10, which is a pretty loud and crowded spot to be in. The whole area is filled with shops selling all kinds of mechanical bits, and we are right in the thick of it. At Vijay Auto Parts, we have shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling, packed with boxes of every shape and size. It’s usually a bit greasy because of all the metal parts, so we always tell people to watch their sleeves. The street outside is a constant stream of taxis and delivery bikes, so there is always someone honking or shouting. We spend our day looking up part numbers and digging through the back to find that one specific bolt or gasket someone needs. It’s a bit like a treasure hunt sometimes. Our counter is old and has a lot of scratches from all the heavy items we’ve slid across it over the years. We have a small stool in the corner where we sit when things finally quiet down for a minute. The fan above us wobbles a bit, but it still works, so we leave it alone. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a busy, dirty, honest way to make a living for all of us.
