We are over at H-14 in the Ansa Industrial Estate, which is on Saki Vihar Road in Andheri East. Anyone who knows Mumbai knows how the traffic is around Sakinaka, so getting here in the morning is always a bit of a gamble. The estate itself is one of those old-school industrial clusters where everyone is squeezed in. Our unit is not very large, but we make the most of the space we have. There are boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling sometimes, depending on what is coming or going that week. The air conditioning works hard during the humid months, but usually, we just keep the door open for a bit of a breeze. It's a very practical environment. We don't have fancy signage or a big glass front. It’s just a heavy door with the company name and our unit number. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the stock that comes in from the suppliers. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor has some marks from moving heavy crates around, but it shows we actually work here. We usually grab lunch from the small stalls just outside the estate gate. It’s a busy, noisy place to be, but we have been here so long that the chaos feels normal to us now. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay organized.
