Vaitarna

Vaitarna is found at A-24 in the Kalumal Estate on A. B. Nair Road. It’s right across from the Juhu Post Office, which is a useful landmark for anyone trying to find us in the middle of all the Juhu traffic. The estate itself feels like a bit of a relic from an older version of Mumbai. It’s a sturdy building, but it shows its age in the corners and the way the paint looks. Our space is on the ground level, so we see everyone coming and going from the other units. The air is always a bit salty since the beach isn't too far away, though we don't get much of a breeze inside. We have desks pushed up against the walls and a few shelves that are sagging a bit under the weight of all our files and ledgers. There isn't much silence here between the cars on the road and the people talking in the hallway. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background to drown out the city sounds. It’s a practical environment for a small group of people. We don't have a big corporate sign, just a small nameplate near the door. Usually, the day starts with someone opening the heavy door and ends with the sound of the locks clicking shut late in the evening. It’s just a regular workplace doing regular things day in and day out without any extra bells or whistles.
