We are located at 17/18 Apollo Ind Estate on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. It’s an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving in and out and the sound of machinery in the distance. Utssav Cz Gold Jewels Ltd. isn’t a typical jewelry shop with a glass front on a main street. We are inside the estate, which is more about the work and less about the show. The space is large because we need the room for the benches and the tools we use. It’s often quite bright inside because of the lights we need for the detailed work. We’ve been in Andheri for a good number of years now. The commute for the staff can be a bit much with the Mumbai traffic, but we all show up and get to it. We have a small area where we keep the finished pieces, but most of the place is dedicated to the actual making of things. It gets a bit noisy during the peak hours of the day. We don’t really do fancy brochures or big events. Most of our clients know where to find us in the Apollo Industrial Estate. We focus on the daily tasks, making sure the pieces are handled correctly. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details. At the end of the shift, we lock up and join the crowd heading back to the station. It’s just how our days go.
