Usha Industries

Usha Industries is based at 114, Doshi Wadi, right on LBS Marg in Ghatkopar West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy LBS Marg gets. Our workshop and office are right in the thick of it. We do a lot of small-scale manufacturing and industrial work here. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of machines and materials packed into the unit. It is an old-school setup, where you can hear the sounds of work as soon as you step inside. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a place where things get made and fixed. Doshi Wadi is a busy little pocket, and we’ve been part of it for many years. We mostly deal with other businesses that need custom parts or specific metal work done. A lot of our day is spent at the benches or talking to customers who walk in from the street. It gets noisy and the air smells like metal and oil, but that is just part of the job. We aren't a corporate giant; we're just a local industrial unit trying to get the orders out on time. Sometimes the rains make it a bit difficult with the leaks in the roof, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tasks at hand. It’s a simple life, and we like being in Ghatkopar. We usually close up around seven once the last order is packed and the streetlights come on.
