Universal Export Co. is tucked away in Mangal Jyot building on C. D. Barfiwalal Road. If you know Andheri West, you know how Juhu Lane gets during peak hours. Our office is at number 4. It’s an older building, but it has some character. We’ve been operating from here for a good while now. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and checking on shipping dates. The space isn’t very large, so we’re all pretty close to each other’s desks. You can usually hear the traffic from outside, but we’re used to it. We handle a lot of the logistical side of things, making sure stuff actually gets sent out. It’s not glamorous work, and there’s always some form that needs filling out or a driver who’s running late. We have a small pantry where we make coffee, which is basically what keeps us going. Nobody here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to. We prefer just getting on with the job. The walls are covered in calendars and notes about various containers. It can get a bit messy when we’re busy, but we know where everything is. People come and go, and the day usually flies by because there’s always something that needs fixing or a schedule that changed at the last minute. It’s just how we do things here in this corner of Andheri, keeping it simple and making sure the work gets finished.
