Unified Stores

Unified Stores is right here in Lower Parel, specifically at Sitaram Jhadav Marg A/2. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets. We've been operating out of this spot for a while now. It’s a bit of a mix around here with the old chawls and the huge new towers coming up everywhere. Most days start pretty early for us. We get the shutters up and start sorting things out before the heavy traffic hits the Marg. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular store where people from the neighborhood pop in when they need something. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. Lower Parel has changed a lot, but this little corner at A/2 stays pretty much the same. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy outside, but that’s just how it is in Mumbai. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily work. If you’re walking down from the station side, it takes a few minutes to get here. We try to keep things organized on the shelves so people can find what they want without asking too many questions. It gets a bit loud with the horns and the people passing by, but we’re used to it by now. There’s no big sign with flashing lights, just the name Unified Stores. We just focus on keeping the place running and being there when the locals need to pick something up on their way home.
