Uda

We are based in Mumbai at 3/1, Gawand Chawl, which is inside the Gawand Compound. This is a very typical Mumbai setting. It’s busy, a bit loud, and everyone is always moving fast. Uda has been here for years, and we are very much used to the tight spaces and the constant energy of the neighborhood. The chawl has a lot of history, and we know almost everyone who lives and works around us. Our office is small, but we make the most of the space we have. There are always boxes and papers everywhere because there is always something to be done. The humidity can be quite something during the monsoon, and we often have to keep the fans on full blast just to stay focused. We don’t have any corporate branding on the walls or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and see us working at our desks. We take our breaks at the local stalls nearby, grabbing a quick vada pav or a cutting chai. The sounds of the compound are never silent, but that’s just how Mumbai is. We don't mind the lack of space because we are right in the middle of everything. It’s a very honest way to work. We handle our daily business without any pretense.
