U.C.B. India Limited

Our office is located in VIP House, at 88-C on Old Prabhadevi Road. U.C.B. India Limited has been operating out of this building for quite a long time now. If you know the Prabhadevi area, you know it’s a mix of old buildings and these new, massive towers going up everywhere. We are in one of the older ones. The office isn't much to look at. We have some sturdy wooden desks and cabinets that are packed with years of records. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes. We handle various business operations and it mostly involves a lot of coordination and management tasks. There’s a small group of us who have been together for years, so we’ve got a routine down. We aren't trying to be the most modern company in Mumbai. We just want to get the job done properly. The street outside is always humming with cars and people going to the temple or their own jobs. In the afternoons, it gets quite warm, so we keep the windows open to catch a breeze, even if it brings in the city noise. We don’t have any big mission statements or corporate goals pasted on the walls. We just have a calendar and a clock. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the local news. It’s a simple, steady way of working. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in this neighborhood, but we’re still here in VIP House.
