Our office is tucked away in Malad at Bay View, right on Marve Road in Rathodi. It is a nice part of Mumbai to work in, especially being near the coast. We deal with shipping and all the logistics that go along with that. Every day starts early here with checking on where the ships are and making sure the documentation is all set. We have been in this spot for some time now and most of the staff lives nearby. The traffic on Marve Road can be a bit much in the mornings but we are used to it by now. It is a pretty straightforward operation we run. We handle a lot of phone calls from people asking about their cargo or local regulations. Shipping is one of those things where something is always changing. We keep a lot of records in the office and the desks are usually covered in manifests and schedules. There is a small window where we can see a bit of the outside world, which is nice when things get stressful. We are not a giant corporate hub, just a dedicated group of people in Malad trying to keep things on track. Most of our work is about coordinating between different ports and making sure the paperwork is clean. It’s hard work but it keeps us busy. We mostly just focus on the task at hand and try to get home before the evening rush starts.
