Diamond Garments

Working at Diamond Garments in Zamil House is a lot of regular days mixed together. The building has been here a while and you can tell by the way the stairs feel when you walk up. We mostly spend the day moving boxes of clothes around and making sure things are where they belong. It is not a very big space but it fits what we need. In the mornings, the light comes through the window a certain way and makes the dust show up on the tables. It gets a bit noisy when the street outside starts waking up. People come in and ask about different shirts or pants and we just show them what we have on the racks. There is no air conditioning that works all the time so we keep the fans going. Sometimes the phone rings too much and other times it stays quiet for hours. We have a small corner where the kettle sits for tea. Zamil House is a busy spot and there are always people moving in the hallways. The floors are a bit scuffed from moving the garment bags every day. It is just a place where we come to handle the clothing business. We do not have fancy chairs or a lobby. It is mostly just racks of garments and some old desks. When the day ends we lock the metal shutter and head home like everyone else in the area.
