Down in Navi Mumbai, specifically in Koperkhairane, life feels a bit different than the main city. The Structural Waterproofing Co. Pvt.Ltd. operates out of the Shree Kripa Co-Op Housing Society. It is D-04/03. Working out of a housing society means we are right in the middle of where people live. You see the neighbors drying clothes and hear the kids coming home from school. Ravi K.V. manages things here. It is a small setup. We don't have a giant warehouse; instead, we have a room filled with the essentials for waterproofing jobs. During the monsoon, the humidity in Navi Mumbai is incredible. Everything feels damp, which I guess is good for business. We spend a lot of time talking to society committees and homeowners about their damp walls. We sit around the small table and go over the costs. It is very informal. You can come by in your slippers if you want. We are just local people providing a service to other locals. The train station is not too far, so there is always a flow of people moving past. We keep our paperwork in folders and try to stay on top of the schedule. It is not a high-tech operation. It is just us, our brushes, and our sealants, doing what we can to help people keep their homes dry. It is a decent way to earn a living in the neighborhood.
