The Sports Bar

You can find us inside The Bowling Company, which is part of the Phoenix Mills Compound in Lower Parel. It is a busy part of Mumbai, especially with all the offices and shops around S.B. Marg. The Sports Bar has been here for a while, tucked away in 400013. The whole compound has changed a lot over the years, but we have stayed in our corner. It is usually a mix of sounds here—the bowling pins crashing nearby and the noise from the street. We spend our mornings getting the place ready, checking the screens, and making sure everything is where it should be. It is not a quiet job, but we like the energy. The space is a bit dark, which is nice when it is bright and hot outside. We do not have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, open the bar, and wait for the games to start. Sometimes it gets really crowded and we are all rushing around, and other times it is just a few regulars sitting at the counter talking about the latest match. We do our own cleaning and stocking. It is hands-on work. Being in Lower Parel means there is always something happening, so we never really get bored. We are not a big corporate chain; we are just a part of the compound. We keep things simple and focus on making sure the TV works and the drinks are cold.
