The Leather Mall

Our shop is at 9, Oberoi Shopping Centre, right in Nariman Point. It’s a well-known spot in Mumbai, but our little corner is pretty straightforward. The Leather Mall isn’t as big as the name might make it sound. It’s a cozy space packed with different bags, belts, and jackets. We’ve been here for quite some time, watching the city change around us. The air conditioning is always running because Mumbai gets so humid. We spend our days talking to people who wander in after visiting the hotel or the offices nearby. Some are just looking, others know exactly what they want. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us because they were already in the area. We keep the leather smelling fresh and try to keep everything polished. It’s just a few of us working here. We know where every single item is kept on the shelves. Sometimes we have to send things out for minor repairs, and we just tell the customers the truth about how long it will take. It’s a regular retail life. We open up in the morning, dust the counters, and wait to see who comes through the door. It’s a nice way to spend the day, meeting different people from all over. We aren't a fancy brand, just a local shop that’s been here for years. We like the pace of things at Nariman Point.
