The Gujarat Trunk Depot

We've been at this spot near Crawford Market for quite some time now. People know us for the metal trunks and storage boxes stacked up outside. It gets busy here, especially with the Jumma Masjid crowd passing by every day. The shop isn't fancy, just a lot of steel and iron work everywhere you look. We started in this old building in the Masjid 1st Phase and just stayed. Some customers come in looking for a sturdy box to keep their valuables or for moving things back home. It's a loud area, lots of carts and people shouting, but that is just how it is around here. We open early and close when the sun goes down. Most of the work involves moving these heavy trunks around and helping people find the right size. There isn't much space to walk inside because of all the stock. My family has seen the neighborhood change, but we keep doing the same thing. You can find us easily because we are right near the mosque. Some days are slow, others we can't keep up. It’s a simple life selling trunks. We don't do much fancy advertising, just the name on the board. If you need a trunk that lasts, you just walk down the lane and find us. That’s pretty much the whole story of this place.
