Working out of No. 37 Dandekar Industrial Estate in Palghar can be a bit of a challenge during the monsoon, but we make it work. The facility is situated on Old Satpati Road, which gets pretty busy with trucks and vans going back and forth all day. Inside Tube Tech Copper Alloys Private Limited, it’s usually quite warm because of the processes we have running. There is always a rhythmic clanking sound that you just stop hearing after a few weeks of working here. We spend a lot of our time checking measurements and looking at the finish on the metal. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and moving between different stations in the factory. The office part is just a partitioned area where the paperwork gets done, and it’s usually just as dusty as the rest of the place. We don’t really have any fancy corporate stuff going on; it’s just a group of people who have been doing this for years. Sometimes we have lunch together out by the main gate if the weather is nice enough. Palghar and the Thane region are a bit of a distance from the main city, so most of us live nearby or have a long commute on the train. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. It is a practical way to spend the day and it keeps us busy from morning till night.
