Our office is on the second floor of the Ganjawala Building. It is an old building on C.P. Tank Road right at the corner of 2nd Carpenter Street. If you have been to this part of Mumbai you know how narrow the streets are. It’s a very busy neighborhood and everything is packed together. We are suppliers so we deal with a lot of different goods and paperwork. The stairs up to the second floor are steep and you have to be careful. Inside it is a bit of a maze with boxes and files. We have been here for years and we know the area like the back of our hands. We aren't a big corporation with a shiny glass building. We are just a small team working in a classic Mumbai setting. It gets very loud outside with all the traffic and the people walking by. We drink a lot of tea while we manage the orders. Sometimes the deliveries are a headache because of the traffic but we manage. We don’t have a lot of space so we have to stay organized. It’s an honest way to make a living. We talk to the other shop owners on the street every day. It’s a community here. We don’t do anything fancy. We just take orders and make sure the supplies get to where they need to go. It’s a bit chaotic but it’s our daily routine and we like it.
