You can find us at the Tahira Compound on Caves Road, over in Jogeshwari East. We’ve been here for a long time, and the compound is basically named after the business, so it’s not hard to spot once you’re on the road. It’s an industrial setup, lots of grease and metal and the sound of machines running. We do a lot of manufacturing and assembly work here. The buildings are sturdy but definitely show their age with the rust and the stained floors. We have a crew of guys who have been with us for years. They know the machines better than anyone. It’s not a clean-shirt kind of job; we’re usually covered in something by the end of the shift. We make various parts and industrial equipment that goes out all over the country. The office part is just a small corner with a couple of old computers and a lot of logbooks. We don't bother with fancy decor because it would just get dirty anyway. Caves Road gets very congested during rush hour, so we try to get our shipping done early in the morning. We just focus on making things that work and making sure the orders are accurate. It’s a lot of manual labor and technical double-checking. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the compound stays pretty much the same. We just keep doing what we know how to do.
