Swetta Arts

Swetta Arts is located at Sawe House on Jiwa Mahale Marg. This is in the Koaldongri area of Andheri East. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy Andheri can be. There is always a lot of noise from the street and people rushing to the station. Our workshop is in a bit of an older building, Sawe House, but it serves our needs just fine. We do all kinds of art work here. It is a messy place most of the time. There are canvases leaned against the walls and jars of water with old brushes sitting on the tables. We might have some frames being glued in one corner and someone sketching in another. It is not a clean, white gallery like you see in the fancy parts of town. It is a working space. We get dust on our clothes and paint under our fingernails. Jiwa Mahale Marg is a narrow street and it can be a bit of a struggle to get deliveries in and out, but we make it work. We have been in Koaldongri for years. Most of our neighbors are small businesses too. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who like making things. We don't spend money on ads. Usually, someone just hears about us from a friend and stops by Sawe House to see what we are making. It is just a simple life of making art and trying to pay the rent in Mumbai.
