Our office is Shop 4 on the ground floor of Bhawani Bhavan, right on Bhawani Shankar Road. If you know where Sharadasharam School is in Dadar West, then you’ve probably seen us tucked in right next to it. Being in Mumbai, it gets noisy outside with all the traffic and the school kids, but we don’t really mind the noise. It feels like we are part of the daily rhythm of the street. We handle the basic financial stuff that people need, mostly paperwork and keeping track of things for the folks who live in the neighborhood. We aren’t a big bank with marble floors and security guards. It’s just a regular shop space that we keep clean so we can do our work. Most of us have lived in this area for years, so we know the shortcuts and where to get the best snacks. People come in, do their business, and maybe stay for a minute to talk about the weather or the local news. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone with fancy talk. We just focus on the accounts because it’s a steady job and we take it seriously. Dealing with people's savings means you have to be careful and honest every day. That’s what we aim for. No bells or whistles, just us at our desks in Shop 4. We stay late sometimes to finish filing, but it's just part of the work.
